1. Find a ride

Just enter your departure and arrival points and your travel date, then choose a driver offering a ride going your way.


2. Get in touch

Click on Contact Driver button and then contact your driver via phone or private message to book your seat with them.

3. Travel together

Be at the planned meeting point on time! Remember to bring exact change so you can pay your driver the agreed contribution during your trip.

There are three important ways in which we create the environment for a secure car sharing community. First, member identities are authentic. Second, the community self-moderates, using profiles and ratings to evaluate members and vet those that do not respect the BlaBlaCar spirit of positive community collaboration. Third, BlaBlaCar has a dedicated Member Relations team, available every day to support users, so you always get the best experience out of BlaBlaCar.

Insurance

Passengers contributions to drivers do not generate profit, they only offset costs, therefore car sharing is not ever hire and reward. All the members of the Association of British Insurers have agreed that if your passengers contribute towards your running costs your insurance cover will not be affected. Rides must only be given in a vehicle seating eight passengers or less. BlaBlaCar scrupulously fulfills these conditions, as we limit number of seats and cap price per passengers (basing calculations on HM Revenue & Customs Approved Mileage Payment Allowance).

                                  Confidentiality

BlaBlaCar needs your phone number to verify your identity and to send you notifications when you plan a car share. But this doesn’t mean anyone will be calling you on it! Whether you prefer to receive emails or just don’t have time to take calls, enabling the Hidden Number Option means your number will NOT be shown to members on your profile. And thanks to our internal messaging service, you can talk to any member without ever disclosing your email address either. When a member writes to you, you’ll get a nice email from us, letting you know that you have a message available in your member space. It’s simple and all your details remain strictly confidential.
